Yes, we are real people!

We’re E.B. and Opa, the husband-and-wife team behind Coffee With Jesus. We’ve been married for more than 50 years, are grandparents and great-grandparents, and live in South Carolina, where we do most of our work.

Our Mission! Our Purpose!

At the center of our lives are four things. If we do this right, you’ll see all four throughout this website:

Faith. Family. Beauty. And Good Humor.

Coffee With Jesus is part of Reach One Media LLC, our ministry built around a simple idea: “Create good media in a world that needs it.”

Because of who are are, that means using cartoons, stories, art, humor, and “treasures” to make people smile, to encourage them, and perhaps even, to make them curious enough to open their Bible and take another look at the greatest story ever told.

A Cartoonist & A Treasure Hunter

While Opa has had a multi-faceted career, he is a lifelong cartoonist, caricature artist, writer and storyteller. Opa believes humor and beauty can open doors to the heart—and sometimes a simple cartoon can help someone see an old Bible story with fresh eyes.

E.B. is the treasure hunter. She travels the highways and byways, visiting thrift stores, antique stores and out-of-the-way places looking for things that once belonged to somebody else and deserve another chance. She finds bargains and passes them along as bargains, too—and those adventures help support our ministry.

Together, we travel regularly, mostly in South Carolina, meeting interesting people, discovering beautiful places, and uncovering plenty of stories along the way.

Coffee, Cartoons & More

We also have an online store where you’ll find Coffee With Jesus merchandise—including coffee mugs (of course!), hats, tote bags and other goodies.

We’re also making some of Opa’s cartoons available for churches and ministries to use in bulletins, websites, blogs, newsletters and other publications.

But ultimately, we’re not the story.

The story is faith. It’s family. It’s finding beauty in the world God created. It’s sharing some good, clean humor along the way. And most importantly, it’s encouraging people to discover—or rediscover—the stories found in Scripture.

So pull up a chair.
