We all know the story.

God creates Adam. God creates Eve. There’s a garden, a serpent, some forbidden fruit—and suddenly everybody is looking for a fig leaf.

In this collection of Opa Scribble Style cartoons, we take a playful trip through the opening chapters of Genesis—and Adam starts showing cracks long before Eve takes that famous bite. He complains. He gets distracted. He wants things his way. And, like the rest of us, he has a remarkable ability to stand in the middle of Paradise and still find something to grumble about.

Eve is responsible for her own choices, of course. But Adam wasn’t exactly an innocent bystander waiting for everything to go wrong. Something was already happening in the human heart.

That is where these cartoons have a little more to say than their punchlines.

Each cartoon stands on its own. Together, however, they tell a surprisingly familiar story about self-centeredness, distraction, temptation, blame, and the human tendency to distort what God has given us.

Fortunately, Genesis is only the beginning of the story.
